City of Clarksville - Clarksville, TNClarksville, TN – On November 12th, 2013 members of Clarksville Fire Rescue and the Clarksville Gas and Water Department will present a check to the Susan G. Komen Foundation.

October is designated as National Breast Cancer Awareness month and this contribution is a result of fundraising activities that took place through October.

The Departments designed and sold pink t-shirts supporting the cause for employees. A “civilian” t-shirt was also designed and sold. The sales have raised about $4,900 which will be presented to the Foundation.

“I want to congratulate and support Chief Roberts, the administrative staff, firefighters and rescue personnel and Pat Hickey and the Gas and Water employees who support the fight against this devastating disease,” said Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan. “I know that the Susan G. Komen Foundation is very appreciative of their hard work and dedication and I appreciate their efforts to make a difference in the lives of Clarksvillians every day.”

The check presentation will be held at the main fire station at 802 Main Street at 10:30am.
