APSU Lady Govs Basketball drop home game to Arkansas State 79-69

 

Austin Peay State University Lady Govs - APSUClarksville, TN – Center Tearra Banks notched the first double-double by a freshman since 2007 but it wasn’t enough as Austin Peay State University women’s basketball team dropped a 79-69 decision to Arkansas State, Friday night, at the Dunn Center.

Xiamar Richards concludes career with APSU-record run at NCAA South Regional

 

Austin Peay State University Lady Govs - APSUTuscaloosa, AL – Senior Xiamar Richards broke the school six-kilometer record to lead Austin Peay State University women’s cross-country team at the NCAA South Regional, hosted by Alabama at Harry Pritchett Running Park, Friday.

APSU Lady Govs Volleyball concludes season at Morehead State

 

Austin Peay State University Lady Govs - APSUClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University’s volleyball team concludes its 2013 regular season when it faces Ohio Valley Conference regular-season champion Morehead State in a 5:00pm, Saturday contest at Wetherby Gymnasium.

Austin Peay (12-20, 9-6 OVC) enters the regular season’s final match battling for seeding. The Lady Govs could end up as high as the fourth seed with a win or fall to the sixth seed with a loss, depending on results elsewhere in the league.

Clarksville Police release Paradise Hills Shooting Victim’s Name

 

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – On November 14th, 2013, Clarksville Police responded to a shooting that occurred in the Paradise Hills area. Two individuals received gunshot wounds.

One of the victims was a 20 year old male Cemage D. Garrard who lives at 949 East Happy Hollow Drive in Clarksville. The other victim is a juvenile male. There is no further information at this time. Clarksville Police are still investigating the insident.

APSU Governors Stadium walls to begin tumbling down

 

APSU - Austin Peay State University SportsClarksville, TN – Take a quick trip through the bowels of Governors Stadium’s west side and it is easy to notice; the extraction already has begun.

Stored materials and debris—and any items deemed not necessary for Saturday’s 1:00pm Austin Peay-Southeast Missouri game—have been moved into the tunnel areas and walkways.

Yes, Governors Stadium (formerly Municipal Stadium) as many have known it for the past 67 years, will be undergoing a complete facelift to the stadium’s east or home side.

Customs House Museum opens “Becoming Clarksville: Celebrating Legacies of Leadership” in the newly remodeled Clarksville Jaycee’s Heritage Hall

Through the prism of leadership, the exhibit explores the history of Clarksville and Montgomery County, focusing on the stories of individuals who helped shape the city, featuring unique interactive and video elements. Becoming Clarksville also serves as a legacy for the Clarksville Jaycees, remembering its history and contributions to the people of Clarksville.

Clarksville Police Investigating Shooting in Paradise Hills Area

 

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – The Clarksville Police Department is currently investigating a shooting that occurred yesterday, November 15th, 2013 at 6:08pm, in which two individuals did receive a gunshot wounds. Detectives are currently in the middle of the investigation.

One victims was taken to Gateway Medical Center by EMS, and another went to Jennie Stuart Medical Center in Hopkinsville, KY on their own. This is all the information available for at this time. Both victims are not seriously injured.

Tennessee Titans lose to the Indianapolis Colts 30-27 at LP Field

 

Tennessee TitansNashville, TN – The Tennessee Titans (4-6) got out to a fast start jumping out to a 14-0 lead in the first quarter against the Indianapolis Colts (7-3) Sunday at LP Field. The Titans went in a half time winning 17-6. The Colts rallied in the third quarter putting up 17 unanswered points and taking a lead they would not relinquish on their way to a 30-27 win over the Titans.

Tennessee scored touchdowns on their first two drives of the game both coming at the hands of Chris Johnson. The first was a 30 yard run and the second a 7 yard run by Johnson.
