Montgomery County “Cans For Homes” Celebrates One Year on America’s Recycle Day

Habitat for Humanity of Montgomery County TennesseeClarksville, TN – Habitat for Humanity of Montgomery County TN and the Habitat for Humanity of Montgomery County Youth Recycling Club celebrate their Cans For Homes project’s one year anniversary today, on America’s Recycle Day!

The totals are in!  We want to thank everyone who donated and recycled with us this past year that helped us reach this grand total.

From November 15th, 2012 to November 15th, 2013 the Cans For Homes project collected 4,667 pounds of recyclable materials which equates to $1,041 which will go towards a safe, decent and affordable home here in Clarksville and Montgomery County!

Not only did you help us raise money for a Habitat home, you helped us keep over 2 tons of materials out of our local landfill.

We are asking the Clarksville and Montgomery County area to help celebrate by helping to start off our second year by donating soda cans, clothes, shoes, purses, and linens to continue to raise funds to help build a local family a Habitat for Humanity home.

The Habitat for Humanity of Montgomery County Youth Recycling Club has set up 3 locations for you to drop off recyclables at the Habitat ReStore at 408 Madison Street, C&L Recycling Inc. at 123 Denny Road, and St. Bethlehem Christian Church at 280 Dunbar Cave Road.

We want to extend a special thank you to Grace Community Church, First Baptist Church, St. Bethlehem Church, C&L Recycling, B4U-bearsfouryou.com, Habitat for Humanity of Montgomery County, and the Habitat ReStore.  Also – this project would not be possible without the guidance of the Habitat for Humanity of Montgomery County Youth Recycling Club Director, Kayla Mihalinec and the whole Mihalinec family!

Help us give a “hand up, not a hand out” to Clarksville families!
