“We are so excited to announce the signing of these three players to the Lady Govs family,” said Daniels. “Each of them bring their own gifts and talents that will directly benefit our program immensely.”

Alexander, a 6-1 center, began her senior campaign at Smyrna High School. She scored 23 points in Smyrna’s loss to Tullahoma, last Tuesday. Alexander averaged 13.2 points and 6.9 rebounds as a junior before an injury ended her season prematurely. Despite the injury, the Murfreesboro Daily News Journal listed her as one of its 25 Players to Watch entering the 2013-14 season.

“Brianne is going to add more depth to our post game as well as athleticism,” said Daniels. “She has good hands, a nose for the ball and is a physical presence at the 4 spot. Brianne has length and is a versatile player.”

Baker, a 5-9 guard, also began her senior campaign at Beech High School. One of two returning starters for the Buccaneers this season, she scored 26 points in a season-opening win against Clarksville, Nov. 12th, before pouring in 14 points in a Nov. 14th victory against Stewarts Creek. Last season Baker averaged 14.5 points, 4.5 rebounds and 3.8 assists per game and was named the Region 5-AAA Tournament MVP and led Beech to the sectionals.

“Falon, who is a lefty, brings us an added 1-2 combo,” Daniels said. “She will keep the defense honest with her ability to knock down the three with accuracy. She is a very hard-nosed player who plays all out 94 feet every play.”

Rich, a 5-10 guard, will begin her senior season at Edmonson High School in one week. She returns after averaging 23.5 points per game as a junior, ranking eighth among all Kentucky prep scorers. Rich also was ranked sixth among all free-throw shooters in the state at 84.7 percent, making an impressive 200-of-236 attempts. She was an honorable mention All State selection by the Associated Press after being named to the Region 3 All-Tournament Team.

“Maddie is a true scorer,” said Daniels. “She can create off the dribble, shoot off the catch and has one of the prettiest shots we’ve seen. Maddie is probably one of the most hidden gems out there having not played AAU or travel ball and we feel we hit the jackpot with her.”
