The Lady Govs will look to bounce back from a lackluster performance last Saturday against Evansville. Austin Peay started out 9-of-18 from the floor in the opening nine minutes, but shot just 27 percent (13-of-48) over the final 31 minutes in the 65-50 loss.

Sophomore Tiasha Gray continued her early fine play leading APSU in scoring (14), rebounds (8), assists (6) and steals (4) in 39 minutes of action. Freshman Tearra Banks chipped in nine points on 12 minutes off the bench.

Head coach Carrie Daniels is in her eighth season with a young squad dominated by sophomores and freshmen. The Lady Govs starting lineup has been composed of a senior, junior and three sophomores in the season’s first four games with four freshman seeing significant action off the bench.

The Lady Govs have generally been on the road during the Thanksgiving Break, including stops in San Antonio, Texas and San Luis Obispo, CA the past two seasons. Austin Peay hosted Alabama-Huntsville during the 1999 Thanksgiving Holiday.

Central Arkansas will be finishing up a road trip that started with a 58-54 victory at Jacksonville State, Tuesday. The Sugar Bears lone loss was at Indiana (53-80, November 18th), but they enter the Dunn Center with a 2-1 record in road outings with the win at Jacksonville State and at Mississippi (66-63, November 10th).

Austin Peay’s 2013-14 schedule features 11 games against nine teams that reached the 2012 postseason, including national runner-up Louisville.
