Turner was named to the Madness Ohio Valley second-team after finishing second on the team in tackles (67) in his freshman season.

The 6-2, 205-pound Louisville native opened the season as a reserve and gained increased playing time as his performance improved.

He moved into the starting line up in Week 7 and excelled. In fact, after moving into the lineup Turner recorded a pair of 13-tackle performances, one against Jacksonville State and the other in the season finale versus Tennessee Tech.

Shuler, meanwhile, led the Govs in tackles with 76 stops that included a 10-tackle effort at Murray State. The Nashville native opened the season as the starting free safety but moved over to weak safety in Week 4 and thrived.
