Norl would lead all scorers with 23 points, while Mosley finished with eight.

Clarksville High (0-7, 0-2 District 10-AAA) wouldn’t get any closer than seven points, 57-50, the rest of the way, that coming following two free throws by Avery Bates with 1:35 left.

The Wildcats were also hurt by missed free throws in the final period, as they only hit five out of their 10 attempts, including missing the front end to two one-and-one chances.

Kenwood only led by one, 27-26, as they started the second half, but build its biggest lead of the game up to that point – eight points – 36-28 over the first 3:47 of the third quarter with a 9-2 run with five coming from Norl.

Clarksville High wouldn’t go away though, as J.J. Jones scored seven of his team-high 17 points over the final 1:38 of the quarter to get the Wildcats back to within two points, 40-38, with 18 seconds left in the third, but a bucket by the Knights Jimario Rivers right before the buzzer gave the Knights a 42-38 lead heading into the final eight minutes of play.

Rivers would finish with 17 points.

In the first half, the two teams went back-and-fourth throughout the opening quarter with three ties and four lead changes, the last coming on two free throws by Norl to give the Knights a 12-11 lead after one quarter of play.

Clarksville High would take its final lead of the game, 13-12, with two free throws by Cameron Stiff at the 7:42 mark of the second quarter, but Kenwood followed by scoring the next seven straight to go up 19-13 with 6:16 left before intermission.

The margin would still be six points, 27-21, with 1:07 left following a three by Norl, but the Wildcats closed out the first half by scoring the final five points on a three by Tariq Silver and a basket by Tyriek Cheatham to cut Kenwood’s lead down to 27-26 at halftime.

Both teams return to action December 13th, as Clarksville High travels to Northwest High, while Kenwood will play host to West Creek High.
