Clarksville Parks and Recreation to offer New Boating Safety Class

Clarksville Parks and RecreationClarksville, TN – Have you recently decided in purchasing a boat, or do you want to brush up on the safety precautions of boating?

Come join Clarksville Parks and Recreation and the Coast Guard Auxiliary Unit in the new boating safety class.

This class is good for all types of boats, motorized and non-motorized, and open to ages 12 and up. This class is designed to help improve boating skills, and to help you become a better, more prepared skipper.

The class will be held at the Crow Community Center, and will begin at 9:00am and end around 4:30pm on April 5th. There will be four hours of class done in the morning, and four more hours in the afternoon. There will be breaks as needed throughout the day, as well as a lunch break.

There will also be an exam at the end of the class, and once you pass the exam you will be issued a wallet boating safety education certificate, as proof of successful completion.

Before you arrive at class be sure to purchase a Type 600 Boating Safety Exam Permit from any business that sells hunting/fishing licenses. This receipt will be your ticket to take the exam.

Be sure to sign up online at recpro.cityofclarksville.com there are only 25 spaces available. The cost is $10.00 at the door if you sign up online, but $15.00 at the door if you do not sign up online.
