2003-04 APSU Governors team honored during Basketball Reunion Weekend

Austin Peay State University Governors Sports - APSUClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University held its basketball reunion, Saturday, recognizing former players for both the Governors and Lady Govs programs.

In fact, former basketball Govs dated back from the 1950s (Chet Garrett, 1956-58) to the present day Governors at the morning brunch as both the current Lady Govs and Governors got to meet players who were responsible for the respective program’s rich tradition, including members from the first Ohio Valley Conference team (1963-64).

APSU Lady Govs Softball sputters in 10-1 loss to IUPUI

Austin Peay State University Lady Govs - APSUClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University’s softball team dropped the rubber game of its three-game weekend series to IUPUI, Sunday at Cheryl Holt Field, 10-1 in five innings.

The Lady Govs (2-6) fell behind quickly, despite getting the first two outs in the top of the first inning, with the Jaguars (4-4) stringing together three straight hits against Lady Govs starter Lauren de Castro.

APSU Governors Baseball beats Iowa 7-4; Gary McClure gets 800th Career Win

Austin Peay State University Governors Sports - APSUClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University’s baseball team rallied back from a pair of two-run deficits and claimed a 7-4 victory against Iowa, Sunday afternoon at Raymond C. Hand Park.

The win was head coach Gary McClure’s 800th career victory – he is one of 28 active Division I head coaches with 800 career wins.

LEAP Charity 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament

 

LEAP OrganizationClarksville, TN – LEAP cordially invites the community to join them for a Charity 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament on March 15th, 2014 from 10:00am to 4:00pm at West Creek High School located at 1210 West Creek Coyote Trail.

This full day of exciting hardwood action is both recreational and competitive as team’s battle on the court for trophies, prizes, and bragging rights.

Kenwood And Henry County Advance to District 10-AAA Boys Basketball Tournament Championship

 

Clarksville, TN– The hardwood at Rossview High School was lit up with District 10-AAA Boys Basketball Semifinal action Saturday, February 15th. The Kenwood Knights continued their charge to the Championship game, defeating the Springfield Yellow Jackets 56-32.

In addition, the Henry County Patriots won a nail biter, 43-40, against the West Creek Coyotes to advance to the Championship.

The two teams will face each other Tuesday, February 18th, 7:30pm at Rossview High School for the tournament championship.
