Rossview Lady Hawks Make History, Advance to Region 5-AAA Championship Game

 

Rossview High School HawksClarksville, TN – The Rossview Lady Hawks continue to make history

They were the first Lady Hawks basketball team to earn the regular season district title. Then, they went on to be the first Lady Hawks’ team to win the District Tournament Championship.

After beating the Beech Lady Buccaneers, 57-49, Monday, February 24th at home, they became the first Lady Hawks’ team in school history to advance to the Region 5-AAA Tournament Championship game.

Fort Campbell, KY – Soldiers with 3rd Brigade Combat Team “Rakkasans,” 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), welcomed Command Sgt. Maj. Walter Tagalicud to the Rakkasans as he takes the reigns as the Brigade’s senior noncommissioned officer during an Assumption of Responsibility Ceremony here, February 20th, 2014.

“I’m really looking forward to working with the Soldiers within this Brigade,” said Tagalicud. “I feel very honored to be selected to be the Rakkasan sergeant major and to be able to give the commander a senior NCO perspective.”

Austin Peay State University Governors Sports - APSUClarksville, TN – Austin Peay’s baseball team (1-6) opens its longest homestand of the 2014 campaign when it hosts Eastern Michigan (3-3) in a pair of midweek outings, at 3:30pm both Tuesday and Wednesday.

(Due to inclement weather forecasted, APSU Baseball’s two game series vs. Eastern Michigan now to be doubleheader on Tuesday, starting at 2:30pm)

Clarksville Gas and Water announces Claridge Drive to Close for Water Main Replacement

Clarksville Gas and Water Department - CGWClarksville, TN – Clarksville Gas and Water will close Claridge Drive from Maple Lane to Madison Street beginning Tuesday, February 25th, 2014 for water main line replacement work.

Construction crews will close the road daily between 8:00am and 3:00pm through Friday, February 28th, 2014 to complete the work.

Instant Peay Play: Alumnus Award recipient laid foundation at APSU that led to Super Bowls and Michigan’s Big House

 

Legends Bank, Clarksville TNClarksville, TN – Justin Dickens has made a few stops in his career in the sports information profession since graduating from Austin Peay State University, including two Super Bowl trips and his current job as associate director of public and media relations for the University of Michigan football team, but traces all of that back to his four years as a student assistant under current Govs Sports Information Director Brad Kirtley.

A 2003 bachelor of science degree in public relations graduate returned to Austin Peay for the first time in five years, October 26th, as he was honored in the Morgan University Center Ballroom as one of the two Outstanding Young Alumnus Award recipients for 2013 by the university.
