Tennessee Board of Physical Therapy suspends License of Clarksville Practitioner Herat Desai

Tennessee Department of Health - TDOHNashville, TN – The Tennessee Board of Physical Therapy has suspended the license of Herat Desai, PT of Clarksville, Tennessee.

The suspension of the physical therapist’s license was effective January 31st, 2014. As a result of the summary suspension, Desai was immediately prohibited from practicing as a physical therapist in the state.

Desai’s license was suspended for the following:

  • Engaging in unprofessional and unethical conduct while performing physical therapy for compensation on at least three clients by engaging in sexual misconduct and engaging in the performance of substandard care

Desai’s license will remain suspended pending the outcome of a contested case proceeding in the matter. The Board of Physical Therapy has the authority to summarily suspend a license if it finds that the public health, safety or welfare imperatively require emergency action.

Desai was originally licensed to practice as a physical therapist in Tennessee in 2009.
