Austin Peay State University Lady Govs - APSUMartin, TN – Austin Peay State University women’s basketball team saw its 2013-14 season come to an end in an historic performance by UT Martin, Saturday, at the Elam Center.

Behind 44 points from Heather Butler on the Skyhawks’ Senior Day, the Lady Govs saw their Ohio Valley Conference Tournament hopes evaporate in a 116-85 defeat.

Ice and Sleet expected across Clarksville Montgomery County Sunday afternoon into Monday morning

 

Significant Ice and Sleet accumulations are possible over portions of Middle Tennessee late Sunday afternoon into Sunday night.

National Weather ServiceClarksville, TN – The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch for the Clarksville-Montgomery County area and portions of Middle Tennessee.

Sub-freezing temperatures will begin to filter into Middle Tennessee late Sunday afternoon behind a cold front that will slowly move southeastward across the mid state. A change over from rain to freezing rain is expected to start across northwest portions of the mid state by the late Sunday afternoon hours.

Land Between the Lakes Welcomes Spring with 2014 Season Opening

 

Land Between the Lakes - LBLGolden Pond, KY - Land Between The Lakes (LBL) National Recreation Area began its 2014 operations today, Saturday, March 1st, by opening several popular visitor attractions.

The Homeplace, Woodlands Nature Station, and North and South Welcome Stations opened their doors March 1st, along with Energy Lake, Hillman Ferry, and Piney Campgrounds. The Homeplace, Woodlands Nature Station, and North and South Welcome Stations will be open Wednesday through Sunday during March, then open seven days a week beginning April 1st.

Tennessee Department of Transportation agrees to signs for Port Royal State Park

Tennessee State Representative - District 67Nashville, TN – Tennessee State Representative Joe Pitts (D-Clarksville) is the sponsor of House Bill 2296 (Senate Bill 2402).

This bill will allow the County Clerk’s office to remit monthly payments to the Department of Revenue for titles issued by these offices instead of daily remittances, cleared two hurdles this week and is scheduled to be heard on the House Floor on Monday, March 3rd.

Fort Campbell KY - 101st Airborne DivisionRakkasanFort Campbell, KY – The historical 591st Engineer Company has been added to the ranks of 3rd Special Troops Battalion, 3rd Brigade Combat Team “Rakkasans,” 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) here.

“For us the only real change has been our location,” said 1st Sgt. Aaron Tippett, the senior noncommissioned officer of 591st Engineer Company. “We left the footprint of the 326th and fell into the footprint of the Rakkasans who welcomed us with open arms.”

Soldiers assigned to 591st Engineer Company, 3rd Special Troops Battalion, 3rd Brigade Combat Team “Rakkasans,” 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), join other companies in their Welcoming Ceremony here, Jan. 2014.
