Austin Peay State University Governors Sports - APSUHoover, AL – It started with a second-place finish at the ASU Red Wolf Intercollegiate, April 2nd-3rd, 2011. Twenty tournaments later Austin Peay State University men’s golf team saw its streak of Top 5 finishes end, Tuesday, during the final day of the Samford Intercollegiate.

Breigh Jones named Copies in a Flash APSU Athlete of the Week

Austin Peay Lady Govs LogoClarksville, TN - Sophomore sprinter Breigh Jones, of the Austin Peay State University track and field team, has been named this week’s Copies in a Flash APSU Athlete of the Week.

Jones brought home a pair of silver medals from last weekend’s Ohio Valley Conference Indoor Championships.

Fort Campbell updates for Wednesday March 5th

 

Fort Campbell KY - 101st Airborne DivisionFort Campbell, KY – This just in: Tomorrow (Mar. 5), Fort Campbell is open for limited operations.

Emergency essential personnel report at normal time. All other personnel are authorized a 2-hour delay from normal report time.

BCT/CAB/BDE commanders will make the determination on mission essential leaders and Soldiers to report for selected activities (MTTs, CS13/14, deployment activities). The Sabalauski Air Assault School will open at normal time and conduct scheduled training.

DODEA Schools remain closed, all CDC’s will be open. (RNJ)

This includes Austin Peay at Fort Campbell, Dickson and Springfield campuses. All classes and activities are cancelled for Wednesday, March 5th. Classes scheduled to meet Wednesday at the Fort Campbell Campus have been rescheduled to meet Friday, March 7th during their normal class times.

Crews salvage third Corvette from sinkhole at National Corvette Museum

 

National Corvette MuseumBowling Green, Ky - It’s been almost three weeks since a 40′ wide, 60′ deep sinkhole opened up within the Skydome of the National Corvette Museum, taking eight prized Corvettes with it.

Construction and engineering teams have been hard at work since day one, putting a plan in place for the recovery of the cars and restoration of the building.

The recovery of the three most accessible Corvettes: the 2009 “Blue Devil” ZR1, a 1993 40th Anniversary Ruby Red Corvette and a 1962 Black Corvette commenced on Tuesday with all three cars being successfully saved.

SEC Basketball Tournament supports outreach initiatives

 

Duluth, Ga - The SEC will bring two initiatives to the 2014 Women’s Basketball Tournament, held March 5th-9th at The Arena at Gwinnett Center.

On Friday, March 7th, fans are asked to wear purple to support the conference’s We Back Pat initiative.

The first 1,500 fans wearing purple to the evening session games will receive a Fierce Courage bracelet courtesy of the Pat Summitt Foundation.

The Pat Summitt Foundation, A Fund of East Tennessee Foundation, is dedicated to winning the fight against Alzheimer’s disease.
