APSU Governors Baseball unable to corral Lipscomb Bisons in 14-6 loss at Raymond C. Hand Park

Austin Peay State University Governors Sports - APSUClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University’s baseball team saw a lead evaporate in the final two innings and dropped a 14-6 decision to Lipscomb, Tuesday night, in nonconference action at Raymond C. Hand Park.

Austin Peay (6-9) grabbed a 6-4 lead thanks to a four-run fourth inning as they took advantage of three consecutive walks in the frame.

Clarksville High Wildcats Earn Second Win Against Montgomery Central Indians, 16-1

 

Clarksville High School WildcatsClarksville, TN – The Clarksville High Wildcats defeated the Montgomery Central Indians at Montgomery Central High School Tuesday, March 11, 16-1, for their second straight win of the season.

The Wildcats have allowed only two runs in their back-to-back victories.

Clarksville High’s Donnie Everett gave the Indians trouble on both sides of the ball. As the starting pitcher for the Wildcats he subdued the Indians with four solid innings of work. Everett allowed just one run and six hits. He made six kills and walked only two batters.

Clarksville Gas and Water Department announces Ashland City Road Water Outage Planned for Thursday

Clarksville Gas and Water Department - CGWClarksville, TN – Clarksville Gas and Water has planned a water outage on a section of Ashland City Road (U.S. Highway 41A Bypass) from Glendale Drive to Seven Mile Ferry Road on Thursday at 8:00am for fire hydrant replacement work.

Austin Peay State University Lady Govs - APSUJacksonville, FL – Austin Peay State University women’s golf team improved slightly during the final day of the UNF Intercollegiate, but could not move up in the standings as it finished 13th in the event played at the Jacksonville Golf and Country Club.

Austin Peay State University names Laurel Burroughs Athlete of the Week

APSU - Austin Peay State University SportsClarksville, TN – Junior second baseman Laurel Burroughs, of the Austin Peay State University softball team, has been named this week’s Copies in a Flash APSU Athlete of the Week.

Burroughs broke out of an early-season slump with three home runs last week, helping the Lady Govs to a 3-1 record. She hit .333 (4-of-12) with four runs scored and four RBI in addition to her three homers.

Austin Peay State University’s 20th Annual Governors Bass Tournament just two months away

APSU Governors Bass TournamentClarksville, TN – As the final remnants of last week’s snow and ice storm melt away along with temperatures rising it is a reminder the 20th annual Austin Peay State University Governors Bass Tournament is just around the corner.

This year’s edition will be held Saturday, May 10th, at Kentucky Lake, with registration and boat launching from Paris Landing, Tennessee, State Park. Last season’s tourney drew 282 boats—14 more than in 2012, despite entrants being forced to utilize the back entrance because of flooding.

Clarksville Gas and Water reports Claridge Drive Water Main Replacement

 

Clarksville Gas and Water Department - CGWClarksville, TN – Clarksville Gas and Water construction crews are back on schedule today with water main replacement work on Claridge Drive.

The road will be closed daily from 8:00am until 3:00pm through Friday, March 14th, 2014.

Maple Lane will also be closed to traffic today from Rudolph Drive to East Porters Bluff Road until 3:00pm.  Traffic will be detoured to Madison Street.
