Mason Bellamy Named Head of Special Education, Jessica Harris Selected Hazelwood Principal
Montgomery County, TN – Dr. Mason Bellamy has been named Director of Services for Exceptional Children beginning March 17th. Dr. Bellamy has served as principal of Hazelwood Elementary School since 2012. He will replace Cara Alexander who is retiring.
Dr. Bellamy earned his doctorate from Trevecca Nazarene University, where he also received a master of arts in teaching. He earned a B.A. in political science from the University of Kentucky.His experience in CMCSS has included serving as assistant principal at West Creek Elementary School and a teacher at Sango Elementary School. He is also an adjunct professor at Trevecca Nazarene University.
Jessica Harris, who has served as assistant principal at Hazelwood since 2012, will become the principal of Hazelwood. She earned her master’s of education from Trevecca Nazarene University and a master’s of art in education from Cumberland University.
Previously she served as an academic coach at West Creek Elementary School, where she also worked as a teacher. Additionally, Ms. Harris taught at Kenwood Elementary School.
