Tennessee Department of Transportation reports I-40 in Nashville to be reduced to Two Lanes this Weekend

 

Tennessee Department of TransportationNashville, TN – Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) contract crews will close one eastbound and westbound lane of I-40 near Jefferson Street in Nashville this weekend to install a containment system for future sandblasting and painting of the bridge.

Beginning Friday March 21st at 9:00pm through Monday March 24th at 5:00am there will be lane closures on I-40 eastbound and westbound between mile marker 206 (I-440/I-40 split) and mile marker 208 (I-65-I-40 split). «Read the rest of this article»

Austin Peay State University Governors Sports - APSUClarksville, TN -  Austin Peay State University men’s tennis team steps out of conference play when the Govs travel to Murfreesboro for a 2:00pm, Thursday, match at Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders.

The Govs returned from an extended break with the commencement of Ohio Valley Conference play last weekend.

Tennessee Titans say goodbye to kicker Rob Bironas

 

Tennessee TitansNashville, TN – The Tennessee Titans waived eight year veteran kicker Rob Bironas today. He has been with the Titans since June 21st, 2005.

Bironas is statistically one of the top 10 kickers in NFL history. He made 85.6 percent of his field goals in the first eight years of his career and became one of the top two scorers in club history.

Five Course French Cuisine Dinner to Benefit Local American Red Cross

Austin Peay State University’s Jasmin Ademovic shares OVC weekly honor

 

APSU - Austin Peay State University SportsBrentwood, TN  – Senior Jasmin Ademovic, of the Austin Peay State University men’s tennis team, has been named Ohio Valley Conference co-Men’s Tennis Player of the Week.

It’s the first career weekly honor for Ademovic and the first for the Govs in 2014. Dimitar Ristovski and Sean Bailey each brought home a Player of the Week award last season in Austin Peay’s run to the OVC Championship. He shares the honor with SIU Edwardsville’s Nicolas Vincent.

APSU’s Darren V. Michael presents Original Short Plays in “Brief Encounters” at Clarksville’s Roxy Regional Theatre, March 19th-21st

 

Roxy Regional TheatreClarksville, TN – A jaded Hank Williams Jr. fan, a man basking in the glow of the morning after, a Middle Eastern immigrant seeking a room to rent, a middle-aged man with a fear of spiders and dentists — these are just a handful of the various characters who will take the stage of the Roxy Regional Theatre’s theotherspace this month.

For three nights only, beginning March 19th, four original one-acts by area playwright Darren V. Michael will be treated to a readers theatre production in “Brief Encounters: A Night of Short Plays”.

On the Court With Marlon Scott: Clarksville’s Season Recap for High School Basketball

 

Montgomery County High School BasketballClarksville, TN – High school basketball in Tennessee officially came to a close Saturday, March 15th when the Blackman Blaze (28-6) defeated Oak Ridge to win the boys Class AAA state title.

The win came just one week after the Blackman Lady Blaze (34-1) defeated Ridgeway to capture the girls Class AAA state title. The wins marked the sixth time a school has swept both state titles.
