APSU Lady Govs Golf continue to struggle in final day at MSU Ocala Spring Invitational

Austin Peay State University Lady Govs - APSUOcala, FL – Austin Peay State University women’s golf team could not find the answers it was seeking on the final day, Tuesday, of the 2014 MSU Ocala Spring Invitational.

As a result, the Lady Govs could not move out of 15th place. The Lady Govs shot a final round 320 to end with a 959 at the Juliette Falls Golf Resort.

Sophomore Jessica Cathey, who struggled during the tourney’s first two rounds, displayed some of her 2013 all-Ohio Valley Conference form, shooting 2-over 74 to finish with a 237.

But Cathey was the only Lady Gov to break 80, Tuesday. Freshman Morgan Kauffman had APSU’s second-best score with an 80 to finish at 245 while fellow freshman Morgan Gardner followed with an 82 to end at 246.

Seniors Rachel Deaton (84) and Tala Mumford (85) rounded out APSU’s Tuesday scores, finishing at 242, respectively.

Daytona State led from start to finish in capturing the tourney with a three-day 889. Houston Baptist was second at 895.

APSU’s OVC foes Murray State (911), Eastern Kentucky (916) and Morehead State (917) finished, finished fifth, seventh and tied/eighth, respectively.
