Clarksville Police Department warns public of increased Residential Burglaries and Requests Community Assistance

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – Recently, the Clarksville Police Department has seen an increase in Residential Burglaries on the north side of Clarksville. Most of the current burglaries occur during the day and involve kicked-in back doors and stolen televisions.

The suspects have just recently started taking other items of value, such as; purses, jewelry, and other electronics.

Possible “Method of Operation” (MO):

It appears that the suspects are able to pull up to the victims homes in some type of work vehicle, like a van or truck. They may be posing as a moving company, service men, contractors, subcontractors, or a salesforce.

It appears that the suspects knock on the front door to check if anyone is home. If no one is at home, the suspects kick in the back door.

If suspects are able to pull up to the home, they can load the items of interest directly into their vehicle, either from the kicked-in back door or by opening the garage door, after entering through the kicked-in back door.

How Can You Help Us?

These daytime burglaries have been occurring in the middle of busy subdivisions. If you see door-to-door salesmen that are not properly identified residents or suspicious vehicles in your neighborhood during the day, please call 911, and a CPD Officer can check their identification and credentials.

The Crime Stoppers TIPS Hotline number is 931.645.TIPS (8477).
