Rossview High School’s Janie White named to TSWA All State Team Second Straight Year

Rossview High School HawksClarksville, TN – On Tuesday, April 8th the Tennessee Sports Writers Association released their choices for the girls all-state basketball teams. For the second year in a row, Rossview’s 6’2” center/forward Janie White was named to the Division I Class AAA all-state team.

White is the Rossview Lady Hawk’s all time leading scorer and was a crucial component to the Lady Hawks historic success this season.

In addition to a dominating post presence where she averaged 18 points in the regular season, she exhibited her intelligence on the court along with a killer instinct averaging almost eight rebounds per game along with four blocks.

After losing in the district title game last year, White led her team, not only to the district title game again, but also to the programs first regional, sectional and state tournament berths.

White and the Lady Hawks finished the season with a program best 27-4 record and were just two points from advancing to the state championship game.

After dominating the district tournament, the Lady hawks advanced to the regional championship game where they lost to the Mt. Juliet Lady Bears. In the ensuing sectional game, White scored 25 to help her team come from behind and beat the Overton Lady Bobcats 56-54.

In the postseason, White averaged over 20 points per game, including scoring 24 and 25 in the state tournament games.

She was named to the District all-tournament team as well as District 10-AAA MVP. White was also named to the Region 5-AAA all tournament team

In February, White committed to continue her basketball career at Brown University.
