Clarksville, TN – Clarksville’s Naomi Jones, 11, took home top honors when she was crowned Miss Tennessee Preteen National Teenager 2014 at Stewarts Creek High School on March 29th in Smyrna, Tennessee.
Representatives from across the state came to compete in the TN National Teenager Scholarship Pageant to showcase their achievements and accolades, and share over $30,000 in scholarship money and prizes.
Miss Jones’ participation was sponsored by her family and friends, and she is the daughter of Fort Campbell Soldier, Sergeant First Class Johnson.
When asked what makes her a good role model, Naomi replied, “Even though I love meeting new people, I have had to overcome being ‘the new girl’ a lot. So I am able to help others who feel different or are being bullied. Plus, I really love to share about volunteering in my community and encouraging others to do it, too.”
Miss Jones’s prize package includes invitations to New York City and the 2015 Miss America pageant, a John Robert Powers School of Modeling scholarship, a photo shoot and much more. She also took home two special awards at the state pageant, Essay/Speech Award and Miss Actress-Junior.
Naomi will be representing the state of Tennessee at the National Competition in Nashville, TN from July 22nd-28th, 2014.
