Austin Peay State University Governors - APSUClarksville, TN – Before Austin Peay State University football conducts its annual Red and White Spring Game at Fort Campbell, the Govs will put the pads aside and conduct a free, one-hour youth clinic, starting 11:00am, Saturday at Fryar Stadium.

Open to all kids grade eight and under, the clinic gives kids an opportunity to get an up-close-and-personal look at their favorite Austin Peay players and learn the game from head coach Kirby Cannon’s squad and coaching staff.

Quarterback, receiver and other skills will be taught, with campers rotating to every station to get the full Austin Peay football experience.

At no cost, kids need only wear comfortable clothing and have a parent on-hand to fill out the consent form to spend the morning learning skills from the likes of Rashaan Coleman, Johnathan Shuler and Corey Teague, among others.

“We hope the kids get a good introduction to the game in a non-competitive environment,” said Austin Peay head coach Kirby Cannon. “The players will be doing the coaching and demonstrating – we want that interaction between the kids and players.”

The clinic is just part of the action leading up to the 3:30pm kickoff for the Austin Peay Spring Game. Check back at LetsGoPeay.com and @AustinPeayFB on Twitter all week for more updates about events surrounding the Spring Game and #SpringFB14.
