Clarksville, TN – Clarksville High School’s Donny Everett and Mitch Muhlada combined to throw a no-hitter, April 21st, against District 10-AAA opponent Springfield High School in a 10-0, five-inning affair.
Everett (7-0) went the first four innings for Clarksville High (21-4, 10-1 District 10-AAA), striking out 11 of the 13 Springfield batters he faced, while Muhlada pitched a one-two-three fifth inning to end the game.
While the Yellow Jackets were having trouble getting any offense going against CHS, the Wildcats had no such problems against Springfield’s pitchers with 11 total hits in scoring their 10 runs – including five for extra bases.Seven different Wildcats players recorded at least one hit – including four that finished with two hits each – led by Gabe Bowling’s double and triple.
Brady Cook, Nolen Melton and Everett would also author two-hit afternoons, with Milton driving in four runs.
The two teams will conclude their two-game District 10-AAA matchup on April 22nd, as the Wildcats travel to Springfield for a 5:00pm contest.
