Rivers and Spires Road Closures Announced

Rivers and Spires FestivalClarksville, TN – Road closures have been announced this week for the 12th Annual Rivers and Spires Festival in downtown Clarksville.

Some street closures will begin Wednesday, April 23rd. All street will be open again Sunday, April 27th by 7:00am.

The following streets will be closed.

Street Closures

Wednesday, April 23rd Beginning at 7:00am

  • Public Square in front of F&M Bank

Thursday, April 24th Beginning at 7:00am

  • All of Public Square
  • Franklin Street from First Street to Public Square
  • First Street from Franklin Street to Main Street
  • Strawberry Alley

Friday, April 25th Beginning at 7:00am

On Friday, Downtown will be blocked off from Public Square to Fourth Street and Madison Street to Main Street.

The streets will be closed all day Saturday and until 7:00am Sunday morning, April 27th.

Clarksville Transit System

Clarksville Transit Center will be closing their Legion Street station during the Festival. On Friday, April 25th and Saturday, April 26th, the alternate staging area for the Clarksville Transit Center will be behind the Disciples of Christ Church on Cooper Place, between Union and Academy Streets.

The Routes themselves will not change and any questions can be directed to 931.553.2429. Service from the Legion Street Station will resume as normal on Monday, April 28th.

Parking

Available parking includes, Cumberland Garage; APSU lots off University Avenue; First Baptist Church lot off of Commerce Street, and all bank lots beginning Saturday. Handicapped parking is available in the parking garage off Commerce Street in front of the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Department on the first level. It is accessible from Riverside Drive.

Please be mindful of the business, private and residential parking in downtown area.

Riverside Drive

Clarksville will also host the Bass Pro Shop’s Big Cat Quest 2014 tournament on April 26th. Official tournament activities will take place at the Cumberland RiverWalk off of Riverside Drive, near the courtesy boat dock. Please be advised that the docks will be closed all day on the 26th.

About the Rivers and Spires Festival

Limited seating is available around the event. Festival-goers are urged to bring their own folding or camping chairs. It is also recommended that attendees buy their food and drink tickets early to avoid long lines. Tickets for food and beverages will go on sale at various booths throughout downtown when the Festival opens. Credit/debit cards will be accepted at several of the ticket booths.

We encourage everyone to recycle their plastic and aluminum while at the Festival, so recycling bins will also be placed everywhere a trash bin can be found.

The Festival will take place rain or shine.

Festival hours are:

  • Thursday, April 24th: 5:00pm–10:00pm
  • Friday, April 25th: 5:00pm–10:00pm
  • Saturday, April 26th: 10:00am–8:00pm
