Instant Peay Play: Governors, Lady Govs summer camps right around the corner

Legends Bank, Clarksville TNClarksville, TN – With the public school year coming to a close and kids starting their summer vacations it won’t be long before parents here that familiar refrain “I’ve got nothing to do”.

Well, Austin Peay State University’s coaches could fill some of that void, as they will be holding a number of different camps over the summer, that will not only give the kids something to do, but also help improve their individual sports skills – while giving the young student-athletes a chance to learn and be around NCAA Division I coaches and players.

For football, the Kirby Cannon 1st-and-10 Football Camp will hold three sessions in June, with an elite camp for players entering grades 9-through-12 on June 7th and June 21st, while also holding a young camp on June 17th through 19th for players entering kindergarten through eighth grade.

For more information on the football camps, call assistant coach Marcus Gildersleeve at 931.221.7981 or by e-mail at gildersleevem@apsu.edu.

For soccer, coach Kelley Guth and her staff have camps running form May 27th through 30th to July 24th through 27th (15 camps in all) for kids ages four to 18 years old.

Camps will range from mini kicks camps to elite college ID camps.

For more information, call coach Guth at 931.302.4779 or by e-mail at guthk@apsu.edu. You can also go to www.kelleyguthsoccercamps.com.

There will also be a Summer Skills Clinic for Pom Squad on July 20th and 21st at the Memorial Health Building Studio (Red Barn).

For more information, call coach Nikki Loos Peterson at 931.221.7291 or by e-mail at petersonn@apsu.edu.

You can also find more information on any of these camps on the Austin Peay athletics website, www.letsgopeay.com . Click on Fan Central at the top of the page and then athletic camps on the drop down link.

So no matter your child’s sport preference there is something for everyone this summer at Austin Peay with APSU coaches summer camps.
