Clarksville Police reports Pedestrian and Traffic Pole Struck at Exit 4

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – The Clarksville Police Department is currently working a Traffic Crash at Exit 4 involving a pedestrian.

A vehicle ran off the road and struck a power pole and a pedestrian at Exit 4 Off Ramp on the westbound side of I-24. The pedestrian’s condition at this time is unknown but believed not to be critical.

However the Westbound Ramp will be closed until the Power Lines and Pole can be removed (Best Estimated Time is Late this evening).

Clarksville Police recommend that traffic that normally exits at Exit 4 need to use Exit 11, Exit 8, and Exit 1.

Also it will be sometime late tomorrow before the Traffic Light is working again. Citizens are reminded that when a Traffic Signal isn’t working they are supposed to treat it the same as a 4 way Stop Sign.

Currently the area is very congested and people are asked to avoid the area and take alternate routes to their designation until Officers and Emergency Personnel can clear the crash scene.

There are plans to put up Stop Signs to remind citizens to treat it as a 4 Way Stop.
