Clarksville Parks and RecreationClarksville, TN – The weekly Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department Recreation Report provides Clarksvillians with a glimpse at the activities and events that are available from the Parks and Recreation Department for them to enjoy together as a family.

This weeks highlights include: New Providence Pool to host event just for toddlers, Friends of Fort Defiance Gear up for Annual Fundraising Event, Clarksville’s Riverfest now accepting Entertainer Applications and Daddy-Daughter Date Night.

New Providence Pool to host event just for toddlers!

Don’t miss the next Toddler Splash Pool Party on Wednesday, June 4th. This monthly event for children ages 5-years-old and younger, takes place on the first Wednesday of every month from 10:00am to noon at the New Providence Pool, located at 166 Cunningham Lane thru August.

At Toddler Splash, kids can enjoy water games, crafts and other seasonal fun! Cost to attend is $3.00 per person, including adults. A parent or adult guardian must accompany toddlers in the water. This event will allow youngsters to enjoy getting acquainted with the water or practicing previously learned water safety skills.

Friends of Fort Defiance Gear up for Annual Fundraising Event

The Friends of Fort Defiance is excited to announce the date for this year’s March to the Past fundraising event: Saturday, June 14th from 10:00am to 5:00pm at the Fort Defiance Civil War Park and Interpretive Center.

Live demonstrations of quilting, firing, clothing, and medicine will be sure to give the community a clear depiction of the Civil War era. Along with these demonstrations, several games and activities for children will take place.

Be sure to bring your appetite as hot dogs and baked goods will be available for purchase to support Fort Defiance.

March to the Past is sponsored by Friends of Fort Defiance, Baxter’s Battery and Porter’s Battery.

Clarksville’s Riverfest now accepting Entertainer Applications

The 27th annual Riverfest, held along the banks of the Cumberland River at McGregor Park in Clarksville, Tennessee, is currently accepting applications for vendors and entertainers.

Entertainers interested in being considered for an opening time slot on one of our stages must submit the following information by midnight on June 16th, 2014: two songs, a photo, biographical & contact information. Applications will not be considered without ALL of these items. Submissions after the above date will not be accepted. We will respond within a few days letting you know that we received your submission.

Parks & Recreation Department offers Daddy-Daughter Date Night

The City of Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department will be offering a memorable evening for dad and daughter couples on Thursday, June 19th. Dinner and dancing will take place at the Wilma Rudolph Event Center, 1190 Cumberland Drive, Clarksville, from 6:00pm to 9:00pm that evening. Each daughter will receive a corsage and a photographer will be on-site for photos.

Daddy-daughter couples must pre-register and can do so at recpro.cityofclarksville.com, by calling 931.645.7476, or dropping by the Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department, 102 Public Square.

Tickets are $25.00 per daddy-daughter couple and $10.00 for each additional daughter.
