National Weather Service has issued a Tornado Warning for Southern Montgomery County

 

National Weather ServiceNashville, TN – The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a Tornado Warning for Southern Montgomery County and North Central Dickson County in Middle Tennessee until 11:45pm CDT.

At 11:04pm CDT, NWS service doppler radar indicated a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado. This dangerous storm was located 11 miles southwest of Clarksville and moving Southeast at 15 mph.

Locations impacted include: Palmyra, Cunningham and Slayden. Tornadoes are difficult to see at night. Take cover now.

Clarksville-Montgomery County under Tornado Watch until early Thursday morning, June 5th

 

National Weather ServiceNashville, TN – The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a Tornado Watch for Clarksville-Montgomery County until 3:00am Thursday morning, June 5th, 2014. Severe thunderstorms expected to move into the Middle Tennessee area tonight.

A thunderstorm complex is expected to develop across Southern Kentucky and push into Middle Tennessee early this evening and move southward across the mid state for the remainder of the evening hours, eventually pushing south of the mid state during the early morning hours on Thursday. «Read the rest of this article»

TWRA and Clarksville Parks and Recreation Youth Fishing Rodeo set for Saturday, June 7th

 

Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency - TWRAClarksville, TN – On Saturday, June 7th, 2014, from 8:30am until 10:30am, the Tennessee Wildlife Resource Agency (TWRA) and the Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department will be holding the annual Youth Fishing Rodeo at the Liberty Park pond.

The event coincides with Tennessee’s annual Free Fishing Day is Saturday, June 7th when anyone may fish free without a license in the state’s public waters.

Clarksville Police respond to shots fired at Lincoln Homes near APSU

 

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – On June 4th, 2014 at approximately 2:45pm, Clarksville Police responded to a report of shots fired at Lincoln Homes near the Austin Peay State University campus.

Fort Campbell's Morale, Welfare and Recreation - MWRFort Campbell, KY – Join the Fort Campbell community for our June Eagle Challenge Fitness Tour event. Fort Campbell MWR, along with 5th Special Forces Group (Airborne) and the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment (Airborne), will host a Warrior Challenge on June 21st.

This is Fort Campbell’s second annual mud run and this year’s course will bring different obstacles, along with a new set of fears to overcome!

Austin Peay State University Baseball has record five Govs named to Louisville Slugger Freshman All-American Team

Austin Peay State University Governors - APSUTucson, AZ – Austin Peay State University’s baseball team saw a program-record five freshmen named to the 2014 Louisville Slugger Freshmen All-American Team, selected by Collegiate Baseball Newspaper.

First baseman Dre Gleason, shortstop Logan Gray, outfielders Cayce Bredlau and Ridge Smith as well as infielder/pitcher Alex Robles were named to the team.

Planters Bank Gallery Hosts Scenes by Kay Lamirande in June

 

Planters BankClarksville, TN – Clarksville Artist Kay Limirande will show an exhibit of landscapes and nature scenes at the Planters Bank-Hilldale Gallery on Thursday, June 5th – Wednesday, July 2nd.

Lamirande’s exhibit includes scenes from France, Japan, and Colorado, along with a variety of beach scenes in oil, acrylic, watercolor, and drawings.

Of those that attended there were a total of 9 that signed up to become foster parents.
