After getting off to a slow start, Hankins currently is batting .293 with 12 doubles, two home runs and 24 RBI.

He is third on the team in batting average and would rank among the Midwest League’s top 25 hitters, but he is one plate appearance shy of meeting the league minimum.

Hankins was one of four Kane County Cougars players named to the team. The first-place Cougars (40-20), a Class-A affiliate of the Chicago Cubs, hold an 8.5-game lead in the West Division and a 3.5-game lead overall with nine days left in the first half, which comes to a close June 15th.
