Greer Stadium to Host Nashville Sound’ First “Past and Present” Baseball Doubleheader

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – The Nashville Sounds will host the first ever “Past and Present Doubleheader” presented by The Nashville SCENE and Family Leisure on Sunday, June 29th at Greer Stadium.

Gates will open at 4:00pm for an action-packed day that will celebrate the storied history of Nashville baseball, beginning with the 1864 Nashville Vintage Baseball League holding its inaugural all-star game at 4:30pm as the North All-Stars battle the South All-Stars.

The opening game of the doubleheader will feature the best players from the Tennessee Association of Vintage Baseball and the Vintage Base Ball Association.

Admission to this unique look into baseball’s past is included with a purchase of a ticket to Sunday’s 6:35p.m. Sounds game. The first 2,000 fans through the gates will receive a commemorative Past and Present Doubleheader print, courtesy of Family Leisure and The Nashville SCENE.

Following the vintage game, modern technology will return to Greer Stadium and the lights and scoreboard will be turned on for the Sounds’ game against the New Orleans Zephyrs (Miami Marlins affiliate) at 6:35pm, completing the twin bill.

The night also marks the fourth Trevecca Nazarene University FAITH NIGHT, featuring a concert by World Outreach Church on the plaza stage near the first-base entrance at 5:35pm. This event will also mark the beginning of Trevecca Nazarene University’s Bible Series Bobblehead giveaway, with the first 1,000 fans coming through the gates Sunday receiving Wise Man #1 Bobbleheads.

There will also be a number of other events for fans to enjoy including another Autograph Sunday, where fans will be able to meet select Sounds players at the front gates, Faith and Family Sunday, and Piedmont Natural Gas Military Sunday presented by Tennessee 811.
