Nashville Sounds to celebrate Independence Day at Greer Stadium Thursday, July 3rd, 2014

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – On Thursday, July 3rd, the Nashville Sounds will celebrate Independence Day a day early at Greer Stadium. The Sounds take on Memphis Redbirds at 7:00pm (Gates Open at 6:05pm).

There will be with a number of events to help fans get into the holiday spirit.

The first 2,000 fans to come through the gates will receive a patriotic Sounds T-shirt courtesy of Pandora Jewelry.

Sounds players will also be wearing special red, white and blue jerseys, presented by Sport Clips, that will be auctioned off to benefit Help a Hero. The winning bidders will get to receive the jerseys from the players on the field after the game.

The night will conclude with an Independence Day Fireworks Celebration presented by the Nashville International Airport.

The team is asking fans to help say farewell to the venue it has called home for 37 years by coming to Sounds games this summer and using the hashtag #LastCheerAtGreer in social media.

This is the last game of an eight game homestand for the Sounds. Nashville begin an eight-game road trip Friday, July 4th that will feature four-game series against the Round Rock Express (Texas Rangers affiliate) and the Memphis Redbirds (Arizona Cardinals affiliate).

The Sounds then return to Nashville and begin their seventh homestand on Friday, July 11th, when they host the Round Rock Express for three games.
