Youth earn cash prizes with Clarksville Parks and Recreation’s Summer Youth Program and Money Management

Clarksville Parks and RecreationClarksville, TN – Maria Jimenez, local accountant and creator of the “FUN Accounting for Preschoolers” program, issued a challenge to the children of the Summer Youth Program.

Participants in the Clarksville Parks and Recreation program were given the opportunity to develop a business plan for a fictional business or profession of their choosing.

Youth could work alone or together to form a “partnership” to complete the project.

Over 20 business plans were submitted by the Summer Youth Program participants, but the following plans were chosen as the best of the bunch and were awarded cash prizes!

1st Place Presented by Daymar Institute

2nd Place Presented by Jimenez Consulting & Tax Services

  • Child’s Hospital Care ( Gabrielle Vradenburg)   $ 50.00
  • USA Gymnastics Summer Camp (Asia Hall)   $ 50.00
  • Cute Cuts ( Jamya Graves)   $ 50.00
  • Dr Kevan Mehta DDS Orthodontist  (Kevin Mehta) $ 50.00

3rd Place Presented by NCM Financial Services

  • Shoes and Hats  ( Ashley Gaines)   $ 50.00
  • Sweet Tooth Bakery ( Kayli Vradenburg) $ 25.00
  • Ashley’s Diner ( Ashley Holloay) $ 25.00

Awards were presented at the Money Management Fair on Saturday, July 12th at the Kleeman Community Center.  The 3rd annual Money Management Fair was sponsored by Baggett Heating & Cooling, Clarksville Fencing, Planter’s Bank, Tim Barnes for Juvenile Judge, NCM Financial Services, McKenzie & Smiley Jewelers, and Jimenez Consulting & Tax Service.  The event also featured a speech by Tennessee State Representative Joe Pitts.
