Dunbar Cave in Clarksville to host Cooling at the Cave this Saturday, July 26th

Dunbar Cave State Park - Clarksville TNClarksville, TN – On Saturday, July 26th, from 3:00pm-5:00pm, come out to Dunbar Cave State Park for the annual Cooling at the Cave event. Join the Friends of Dunbar Cave in enjoying live music, games and refreshments at the cool cave entrance.

Prior to air conditioning being widely available, locals would gather at Dunbar Cave to enjoy the cool air gently blowing from the mouth of the cave. Many concerts were held there as people would fellowship and beat the heat of summer.

For years, the Friends group has put on Cooling at the Cave to recreate this atmosphere. This year is no exception.

As usual, home baked goodies and drinks will be available. The Friends group will have tables and chairs set up, with an array of board games for you and your family to enjoy. Please bring extra chairs and your favorite games.

This year the entertainment is the Cumberland Wind Jazz Project, so bring your dancing shoes. The acoustics at the cave entrance really enhance the musical experience. We are honored to have such an established local band to provide quality entertainment.

This event is highly attended and parking is limited, so we have secured overflow parking at Dunbar Cave Baptist Church and at the Swan Lake Sports Complex. Allen Fenoseff, Park Manager, will be providing shuttle service between the two locations and the park for you convenience.

All ages are welcome and admission is free (donations encouraged, T-shirts and postcards available to purchase).
