Fort Campbell, KY – Blanchfield Army Community Hospital is opening the doors to TRICARE Prime eligible retirees and their Families to come ‘Back to BACH’ for primary care as space allows.
“We have heard from many retirees and their Families that they would like to receive primary care at one of BACH’s medical homes here on post, like the Air Assault, Byrd and Gold Medical Homes or at Screaming Eagle Medical Home within the Clarksville community,” said BACH Commander Col. George N. Appenzeller. “We are excited that we have space available to invite some of our valued retirees back to BACH.”
This opportunity is open to all TRICARE Prime eligible retirees and their Families who are under the age of 65, use TRICARE Prime for their primary health insurance coverage and live within a 30 minute drive time to BACH. BACH medical homes are not authorized to provide primary care once beneficiaries reach age 65 and begin receiving Medicare. There is no age limit if the beneficiary is not eligible for Medicare but continues paying for TRICARE Prime.
“Retirees and their Families should consider this opportunity carefully if they will soon reach age 65 or may lose TRICARE Prime eligibility for any other reason because their current assigned primary care manager may not be able to reestablish the patients back to their clinic at a later date,” said Appenzeller.
TRICARE Prime eligible retirees and their Family members may request to switch their enrollment to BACH medical homes by calling Humana Military at 1.800.444.5445. Although spaces may fill up quickly, BACH’s Managed Care team anticipates more space becoming available throughout the year. If patients are unable to enroll immediately to a BACH medical home, the Managed Care team would be happy to add retirees and their Family members to a waiting list until space becomes available.
