Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency’s Nature at Noontime August Program’s topic to be Bees/Beekeeping

Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency - TWRANashville, TN – The world of bees/beekeeping will be the topic for the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency’s Nature at Noontime. The program returns to its schedule after taking July off and will be held from noon-1:00pm on Thursday, August 7th at the TWRA Region II Ray Bell Building.

Mike Studer, Tennessee’s apiarist, will be the guest speaker. He will discuss the impact of honey bees in the environment and aspects of beekeeping.

The state apiarist’s areas of responsibility include colony inspection, entry permits, moving colonies, pollination list, apiary registration, county or area beekeeping associations, apiary inspection grants, collaborative research, education and regulatory issues.

Hosted by the Information and Education Division, Nature at Noontime is held the first Thursday of each month with the exception of July.

TWRA Nature at Noontime presentations are about natural resources related topics and last about 30-45 minutes, allowing time for discussion during the allotted lunch hour.
