Clarksville Parks and RecreationClarksville, TN – The weekly Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department Recreation Report provides Clarksvillians with a glimpse at the activities and events that are available from the Parks and Recreation Department for them to enjoy together as a family.

This weeks highlights include: Fitness Training class, Select City Pools to extend season through Labor Day, and Fly Fishing program for youth and teens.

New! Fitness Training class

Fun Interval Training (F.I.T.) classWant to get FIT? The Kleeman Community Center is proud to announce the brand new Fun Interval Training (F.I.T.) class beginning this fall! F.I.T. will kick off on September 1st, and continue through October 24th at the Kleeman Center. Classes will meet every day, Monday through Friday from 6:00pm until 7:00pm. This program is $65.00 for the entire session.

Fun Interval Training will give the benefits of a personal training while in a small, group fitness atmosphere. All fitness levels and abilities are encouraged to join! This fun-but-challenging program can be customized to your personal fitness level and fitness goals to keep you motivated and get you in tip-top shape.

To register, visit recpro.cityofclarksville.com and select “Instructional Classes, Lessons, and Camps” from the left-hand tab. Then select the Kleeman Center tab and register from home! Registration is also available at all three community centers or our Main Office, located at 102 Public Square.

Select City Pools to extend season through Labor Day!

Select City Pools to extend season through Labor DayThe City of Clarksville Parks and Recreation may have closed their public pools for the summer season, but, New Providence Pool and Beachaven Pool will be extending the Summer Swim Season!

Current summer pool passes will be honored during the extended hours.

New Providence Pool will remain open from 6:30am until noon, Monday through Friday, as well as from noon to 6:00pm on Saturdays and from 1:00m to 6:00pm on Sundays through August 31st. New Providence Pool will be open from 6:30am to 6:00pm on Labor Day, September 1st.

Beachaven Pool will remain open from 10:00am until 6:00pm on Saturdays and from 1:00pm to 6:00pm on Sundays through September 1st.

Just because the summer is coming to a close, doesn’t mean the swimming will!

The Indoor Aquatic Center at New Providence, currently New Providence Pool, will open its doors Wednesday, October 1st.

Parks and Recreation offers a new Fly Fishing program for youth and teens!

Do you like fishing? Are you interested in aquatic environments? Clarksville Parks and Recreation has teamed up with the National Fishing in Schools Program to offer a class in basic fly fishing and spots are still available!

Class will be held at the Crow Community Center on Thursdays from 4:00pm to 5:00pm, September 11th through October 2nd, and is open to grades 6-12. The cost of the class is $10.00 per person, along with $5.00 Center ID. Space is available but limited, so sign up now at recpro.cityofclarksville.com. Registration can also be completed at any of our three community centers as well as our main office, located at 102 Public Square.
