The meet will feature Ohio Valley Conference foes Belmont, Murray State and Tennessee State in addition to teams such as Kentucky, Purdue and Vanderbilt.

The Govs, projected to finish ninth in this year’s OVC preseason coach’s poll, feature a team with eight returning sophomores. The sophomore class is led by the quartet of Hunter Guthrie, Daniel Hamm, Kyle Harmon and Alex Haycraft. Missing from this meet is sophomore Martin Rejman, who suffered an injury in practice.

“We are going to rely heavily upon the ‘Four-H’s’ this fall,” said head coach Doug Molnar. “It is very important that they stick together as a pack.”

New to the team is freshman Nick Piskor. A native of Nashville, Piskor was a three-time district and Metro City champion while at McGavock High School.

“Nick has had a solid preseason and he could step into a very important role on the team,” said Molnar. “He came into preseason in shape and ready to go”

After competing at Belmont, the Govs will continue their season Friday, September 5th, when they compete in the Powerade Invitational, hosted by Chattanooga.
