APSU Athlete of the Week Aubrey Marsellis

Austin Peay State University Sports - APSU - Governors - Lady GovsClarksville, TN – Junior setter Aubrey Marsellis, of Austin Peay State University volleyball team, has been named the Copies in a Flash APSU Athlete of the Week.

Marsellis earned all-tournament honors at the Akron Invitational after leading Austin Peay in assists (107, 7.64/s) and service aces (7, 0.50/s), helping the Lady Govs go 2-2 on the weekend.

The do-it-all from Owasso, OK also chipped in on the attack, recording 10 kills in four tournament matches and adding eight blocks. Her 34 assists against Binghamton were not just a season-high for her, but also for any Austin Peay setter.

The Copies in a Flash APSU Athlete of the Week is selected by the APSU Sports Information staff each Tuesday during the academic year. Copies in a Flash, of Clarksville, sponsors the award.

Other notable performances by Austin Peay athletes included

  • Senior outside hitter Jada Stotts, of the volleyball team, recorded 60 kills (3.33/g) in five matches last week, including 18 against Binghamton. For the weekend, she led the Lady Govs with a .235 attack percentage.
  • Sophomore Daniel Hamm, of the men’s cross country team, led the Govs with a 17th-place overall finish and was second among Ohio Valley Conference competitors in Austin Peay’s 3-3 double-dual showing at the Powerade Invitational, Saturday.
