Despite coming away on the wrong side of a 2-0 decision, the Lady Govs showed poise and toughness against an experienced Rebel squad picked to finish ninth in the Southeastern Conference preseason coaches poll.

Austin Peay State University Lady Govs - APSUBowling Green, KY – Outside hitters Jada Stotts and Christina White combined for 29 kills, but Austin Peay State University’s volleyball team fell victim to too many errors in a four-set loss (25-21, 11-25, 14-25, 15-25) to Western Michigan, Friday, at the Holiday Inn University Plaza Invitational at E.A. Diddle Arena.

Clarksville’s Alexa Rippy leads Trevecca to first round lead at Evann Parker Memorial

 

North East, PA -The Trevecca women’s golf team started strong and leads the Evann Parker Memorial golf tournament with a first-round 327.

Alexa Rippy (SO/Clarksville, Tenn.) leads the Trevecca and the tournament with a first-round 77. Trevecca’s Mikayla Dodson (JR/Sante Fe, Tenn.) is second place, just a stroke behind Rippy, with her opening round 78.

Mercyhurst University is the host school for the event being played at the Lake View Country Club near Erie, Pa. The 16 teams and 95 golfers will play a final round of 18 holes on Saturday. The course is playing to a par of 72 over 5920 yards.

Montgomery County Sheriff official detains aggressive juvenile near Court Complex

 

Montgomery County Sheriff's Office - MCSOMontgomery County, TN – Officials with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office had to detain an aggressive juvenile in a parking lot near the Court Complex early this morning.

Inv. Julie Webb was walking to court when she noticed what seemed to be a teenager and adult female yelling at each other in the parking lot near the parking garage.

Fort Campbell Warrior Transition Battalion receives Army Superior Unit Award

 

Fort Campbell KY - 101st Airborne DivisionFort Campbell, KY – The Warrior Transition Battalion, Fort Campbell, Kentucky received the Army Superior Unit Award Friday, September 5th, 2014 for their support to over 18,000 warfighters deploying to and from combat operations in Afghanistan from October 1st, 2011 to September 30th, 2012.

An award that is not easily earned, Fort Campbell’s WTB was awarded the Superior Unit ribbon from the United States Army.

But seemingly a time warp occurred since then…Think about it, no, remember the Governors Stadium that Austin Peay football team played in 10 months ago compared to the new one that will greet the Govs when they play host to Chattanooga, 4:00pm, Saturday.

Even the playing surface—FieldTurf XT—is new and includes the new Governor Peay logo at midfield.
