Bill Summers to attend Veterans Affairs Town Hall Meeting in Clarksville today

Election 2014Clarksville, TN – Clarksville Mayoral candidate and Ward 10 councilman Bill Summers will attend the Veterans Affairs Tennessee Valley Healthcare System Town Hall today, September 15th, 2014, at the Clarksville-Montgomery County Public Library.

Today’s open-forum town hall is one of four that the Veterans Affairs Tennessee Valley Healthcare System is hosting across the Middle Tennessee area. According to their website, the goal is to better understand the challenges that veterans face.

As a retired Air Force officer, Summers can uniquely relate to the issues veterans face at the local level.

“My service allows me to understand and appreciate the concerns of Clarksville’s local veterans,” Summers said. “I am grateful for every opportunity I get to meet and listen to the concerns our local veterans have.”

The town hall will be held at the Clarksville-Montgomery County Public Library today, September 15th, 2014. It starts at 10:00am and ends at noon. The library is located at 350 Pageant Lane.

Summers has served as the city councilman for Ward 10 since 2007, after defeating an experienced incumbent, and won re-election in 2010 to his current second term with over 81% of the vote. He announced his campaign for the Mayor of Clarksville in November 2013. He retired from the Air Force in 1994.
