Against UT Martin, Karac provided the only Lady Govs win with a 6-4, 6-4 victory against Maria Sadusky. Also against the Skyhawks, senior Ornella Di Salvo forced a tie break in the first set before falling 7-6, 6-1.  In the match with Middle Tennessee, the Lady Govs had two players drop out of their matches due to injuries and lost the other two matches in straight sets.

Even with the difficult afternoon, head coach Ross Brown did see some positive signs.

“Injuries have definitely given us a bit of a challenge,” said Brown. “I was pleased with our play though. Hannah stepped up to play at the No. 1 position today and I think it was a good experience for her. Jovana also played really well, picking up two wins on the day.”

The Lady Govs continue their home tournament at 9:00am, Saturday with matches against Southeast Missouri in singles action and SEMO and Belmont in doubles play.
