National Public Lands Day Trail Maintenance Work Day at Land Between the Lakes

Land Between the Lakes - LBLGolden Pond, KY – Land Between The Lakes National Recreation Area will host a volunteer trail maintenance day to celebrate National Public Lands Day on Saturday, September 27th, from 9:00am-12:00pm. To sign up, volunteers can call 270.924.2007 or email volunteer@friendsoflbl.org

Everyone will meet at the North Welcome Station at 9:00am. Volunteers are asked to bring lunch, snacks, and a water bottle. Bug spray, tools, and additional water will be provided by Friends of Land Between The Lakes.

“Volunteering is a great way to give back to your National Public Lands,” says Emily Cleaver, Volunteer Coordinator with Friends of Land Between The Lakes. “It’s a fun way to get outside, socialize, meet new people, and help maintain some of our most used trails.”

After a morning of trail work, visit The Homeplace where you will receive free admission in honor of National Public Lands Day. Experience many wonderful programs The Homeplace has to offer.

Land Between The Lakes National Recreation Area manages more than 170,000 acres in western Kentucky and Tennessee as part of the U.S. Forest Service and the Department of Agriculture’s public lands program. Land Between The Lakes offers outdoor recreation, lake access, land management, and environmental education to over 1.4 million visitors annually.

The Friends of Land Between The Lakes works in partnership with the Forest Service providing program services, funds development, and volunteer support.
