Clarksville High Wildcats Football Crashes West Creek Coyotes Homecoming 44-7

Clarksville High School WildcatsClarksville, TN – It was homecoming night at West Creek High School Friday night, but the home fans had more to cheer about during the halftime activities than the actual game. Meanwhile, the visiting fans cheered often as their Clarksville High Wildcats beat the Coyotes 44-7.

Sophomore running back Brevon Johnson earned a lot of those cheers with 76 yards and two touchdowns in the first half of the game. Wildcat senior quarterback Kyle Sickle made throws that evoked cheers as well.

Sickle threw two touchdown passes and rushed for one more.

The Coyotes got behind early and never recovered. The Wildcats scored 30 points before the Coyotes earned their only score right before the end of the first half. They turned the ball over four times, including three fumbles.

Johnson ran seven yards for his first touchdown of the game in the first quarter. His second touchdown was an 11-yard run after Sickle scored on a quarterback keeper in the second quarter.

Ahead 23-0 with 1:19 left in the first half, Sickle completed a reception that Timon Hobson took 75-yards for a touchdown.

Coyote’s junior running back Damari Moore rushed for 77 yards with no touchdowns. Quarterback Jordan Justice threw for 113 yards with one touchdown. The touchdown was a short pass to Zeandre Floyd who outran everyone 65 yards to the end zone with 17 seconds left until halftime.

The Wildcats first offensive drive of the second half ended with a 25-yard touchdown pass from Sickle to Tim Wallace. On the ensuing Coyotes’ drive, Jimmy Miller broke a 63-yard run that put the Coyotes in scoring position. However, two plays later the Coyotes committed a fumble and lost the ball.

The turnover set up an eight-play drive that ended with the Wildcats final score of the game. J.J. Jones dove two yards up the middle for a touchdown.

It was the Wildcats second District 10-AAA win in a row. They improved to 3-3 (2-1 District 10-AAA). The Wildcats will finish the season playing conference opponents. Next, they travel to play the Northwest Vikings.

The loss was the Coyotes last game at home. They lost three of their last four home games, falling to 2-4 (0-3 District 10-AAA) They to will finish the season against conference opponents, all on the road. Next, they will travel across town to play the Rossview Hawks.
