Clarksville Parks and RecreationClarksville, TN – The weekly Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department Recreation Report provides Clarksvillians with a glimpse at the activities and events that are available from the Parks and Recreation Department for them to enjoy together as a family.

This weeks highlights include: Handmade Holidays vendor application deadline nears, Spooky Spectacular and Haunted Maze & Swim, and Bark in the Park Seeks Vendors.

Deadline nears to submit application for Handmade Holidays

Handmade HolidaysThe Wilma Rudolph Event Center, located at Liberty Park, is currently seeking craft vendors to participate in Handmade Holidays. This year’s two-day event is scheduled to take place Saturday, November 15th, 2014 from 10:00am to 5:00pm and Sunday, November 16th, 2014 from noon to 4:00pm.

The event, “Handmade Holidays- a Crafters Bazaar”, will showcase multiple vendors featuring handmade and handcrafted items. The event is free and open to the public.

Vendors interested in participating can pick up an application form at the Clarksville Parks and Recreation office or download it at www.cityofclarksville.com/handmade . All applications must be received by October 3rd, 2014 to be considered. Once selected, the cost for a vendor is $100.00 and includes a 10×10 space, table and two chairs.

Spooky Spectacular and Haunted Maze & Swim Scheduled for October 18th

2nd annual Spooky Spectacular and Haunted Maze coming Saturday, October 18th.The Kleeman Community Center and the Indoor Aquatic Center will be scaring up some Halloween fun with their second-annual Spooky Spectacular and Haunted Maze & Swim on Saturday, October 18th.

The Spooky Spectacular will be open from 2:00pm to 5:00pm with a Haunted Maze and Haunted Swim following from 7:00pm to 10:00pm at both facilities, located side-by-side at 166 Cunningham Lane.

The Spooky Spectacular’s activities will take place from 2:00pm to 5:00pm. These activities will be very family-friendly and will include a floating pumpkin patch inside the Indoor Aquatic Center. Other activities such as inflatables, music provided by an onsite DJ, and vendors with games and prizes will also be available for folks to enjoy.

The Haunted Maze and Haunted Swim portion of the evening will take place from 7:00pm to 10:00pm. These events are geared towards the older crowd may be considered too scary for young children. The Haunted Maze will be located just beyond the Kleeman Center and the Haunted Swim will feature frightful lifeguards inside the Indoor Aquatic Center.

Admission for the Spooky Spectacular and the Haunted Maze & Swim is $4.00 per patron, per event. Armbands are available for those wishing to attend both portions of the event for $7.00.

Bark in the Park Seeks Vendors

Bark in the Park set for Saturday, October 11th, 2014.Businesses that promote dog-related programs, services and products are encouraged to participate as a vendor at Bark in the Park, scheduled to take place Saturday, October 11th from 1:00pm to 4:00pm at King’s Run Bark Park at Liberty Park.

Bark in the Park is the final event of the new ‘Fun with Fido’ series that made its debut in June and promotes an active lifestyle for you and your four-legged family member.

If interested in participating, business can apply by visiting the Parks and Recreation Office at 102 Public Square or going online to www.cityofclarksville.com/funwithfido to download an application form. Applications must be received by October 6th, 2014.
