Austin Peay State University Lady Govs - APSUBrentwood, TN – For the second consecutive week, Austin Peay State University senior outside hitter Jada Stotts has been named the Ohio Valley Conference’s Offensive Player of the Week.

In addition, Stotts was named the Volleyball Player of the Week by the Tennessee Sportswriters Association for the second consecutive week.

Stotts, of Hoffman Estates, Illinois, recorded consecutive 20-kill, 20-dig performances during the opening weekend of OVC play.

In the Lady Govs OVC opener against UT Martin, Friday, she recorded 22 kills and 23 digs in a five-set win.

Stotts followed that performance with a 24-kill and 21-dig effort in a four-set win against Southeast Missouri, Saturday.

While her totals were impressive, it was her timing that was impeccable in each match. Against UT Martin, she recorded three kills in the match’s final four points to help Austin Peay secure the win. The next day, Stotts was responsible for five of APSU’s final six points in the fourth, and final, set.

Her two 20-20 efforts were only the 17th and 18th by a Lady Govs hitter since 1998. Stotts also reached the 1,000-kill plateau during the UT Martin match, becoming the 13th Lady Govs player to reach that milestone.

Austin Peay returns to action with a 7:00pm, Tuesday, OVC contest against Murray State at the Dunn Center.
