Clarksville Parks and Recreation says deadline to register for the Kleeman Center’s Fitness Training Class is approaching

 

Clarksville Parks and RecreationClarksville, TN – You can beat those holiday calories this year, but you’d better hurry! The Kleeman Community Center, located at 166 Cunningham Lane, is offering a second session of its Fun Interval Training (F.I.T.) program that will kick off on November 3rd and continue through January 15th.

Classes will meet daily, Monday through Thursday from 6:00pm-7:00pm. Exercises will focus on a different muscle group depending on the day. The class will take a break from December 22nd through January 2nd for the holidays.

Clarksville’s 2nd Annual Pit Bull Awareness Day set for Sunday, November 2nd

 

Pit Bull Awareness DayClarksville, TN – On Sunday, November 2nd, the 2nd Annual Pit Bull Awareness Day will take place at the Rural King parking lot between 1:00pm and 5:00pm.

This event tries to bring awareness about the misconception of Bully Breeds, raise funds specifically ear-marked to provide free or greatly reduced cost spay/neuter surgeries for owners and to reduce euthanasia and increase adoptions of Pit Bulls in the Clarksville-Montgomery County area.

Clarksville’s Dunbar Cave State Park Programs for November 2nd through November 5th, 2014

 

Dunbar Cave State Park - Clarksville TNClarksville, TNDunbar Cave State Natural Area has been a State Park since 1973. The cave and its surrounding 110 acres have considerable scenic, natural and historical significance. The entrance offered shelter to prehistoric Native Americans as far back as 10,000 years.

Dunbar Cave State Natural Area will present many nature programs this summer. There are programs for children and adults.

Some of the upcoming events include:Dunbar Cave History, Through the Woods at Port Royal and Bird Hike.

APSU Governors Basketball plays exhibition game against Webster at Dunn Center, Saturday

Austin Peay State University Governors - APSUClarksville, TN – After nearly a month of practicing and playing against itself, a new-look Austin Peay State University men’s basketball team finally will play someone else, 6:00pm, Saturday, when the Govs battle Webster College in an exhibition contest in Dave Aaron Arena.

The Governors will combine seven returnees, including preseason All-Ohio Valley Conference selection Chris Horton (13.2 ppg, 9.5 rpg), 92 blocks) with six newcomers Saturday and Dave Loos, heading into his 25th APSU season, is anxious to see how his club begins to mesh.

Tennessee State Fire Marshal’s Office Reminds Tennesseans to Change Your Clocks and Your Battery

Clarksville Gas and Water reports Audrea Lane Road Closure

 

Friday, October 31st, 2014

Clarksville Gas and Water Department - CGWClarksville, TN – Clarksville Gas and Water has repaired a water main leak on Audrea Lane and water service has been restored; however, the road will be closed between Senator Drive and Congressman Drive for repair.
