Clarksville Montgomery County School System has Four Middle Schoolers make Tennessee SCORE Scholarship Semifinals

The Clarksville-Montgomery County School SystemMontgomery County, TN – Four CMCSS middle schoolers have made the semifinalist list for Tennessee SCORE’s “Rise to the Challenge” scholarship competition.

The four seventh graders, from Richview Middle School and Montgomery Central Middle School, are among only five chosen statewide.

The competition provides a way for students to add their voices to the conversation that is helping to shape the future of education.

Students know first hand that their teachers are working hard to prepare them for success after high school with learning they will use in the real world, whether they are going to college or career.

Students were invited to submit an original essay, song, poem or video addressing how they apply what they learn in the classroom to real-world situations.

Students in grades 6-8 were asked to give a real world example of how they are using skills they’ve learned in science or social studies. The CMCSS semifinalists include: Nora Blake, Zaid Malik, and Josephina Reyman, all of Richview, and Harleigh O’Brien of Montgomery Central Middle.

To vote, go to the SCORE facebook page before October 15th.

Finalists receive a $250.00 college scholarship and they will be invited to a state SCORE event on October 27th in Nashville Tennessee.
