APSU Lady Govs Golf slips in final Blue Raider standings

Austin Peay State University Lady Govs - APSUMurfreesboro, TN – After playing two solid rounds Monday, Austin Peay State University women’s golf team could not maintain that play Tuesday. As a result, the Lady Govs slipped in the final standings at the Blue Raider Invitational.

The Lady Govs shot a final-round 334 to finish at 958 and fell to a 14th-place tie with Western Kentucky. Host Middle Tennessee won the event at 873, 22 shots better than second place Oral Roberts.

After counting just one 80 round during Monday’s first two rounds, the Lady Govs were forced count three 80-plus rounds Tuesday.

Only Jessica Cathey, who bogeyed her final two holes, finished at sub-80 with a 79. After being tied for second, Monday, she slipped to a 16th-place with a 225 total.

Morgan Kauffman and Kelsey Schutt had APSU’s next two best scores with 84s. Morgan Gardner followed with an 87 while Amber Bosworth struggled to a 90.
