Rossview Hawks Football Slay Memphis Central Warriors, 24-7, for First Playoff Win in School History

 

Rossview High School HawksServall Termite & Pest ControlClarksville, TN – One year ago under head coach Ron Lambert, the Rossview Hawks football team made school history with the best regular season record (9-1).

However, after reaching the playoffs for the first time since 2009, they lost a shootout to Independence, 35-25.

One year later, Lambert and the Hawks made school history again. This time they took advantage of six turnovers to win their first playoff game in school history. The Hawks defeated the Memphis Central Warriors 24-7 Friday night.

APSU Governors Football to sacrifice timeouts in order to wear Camo Jersey in honor Fort Campbell

Austin Peay State University Governors - APSUClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University’s football team will play Tennessee State for homecoming, 4:00pm, Saturday with just two timeouts.

The camouflaged jerseys Austin Peay chose to wear Saturday with the respective Fort Campbell unit nicknames across the upper back are in violation of NCAA Rule 1, Article 5 regarding proper numerals and lettering. For every quarter Austin Peay wears those jerseys, the Govs will be assessed a timeout.

Fort Campbell KY - 101st Airborne DivisionFort Campbell, KY – The Military Police of the 716th Military Police Battalion, 16th Military Police Brigade, supported by the 101st Sustainment Brigade, 101st Airborne Division, held a change of responsibility ceremony October 22nd at Fort Campbell, Kentucky. During the ceremony, Command Sgt. Maj. David J. Tookmanian relinquished responsibility as the senior enlisted adviser of the U.S. Army’s most decorated military police battalion to Command Sgt. Maj. John D. Vicars.

Lt. Col. Leevaine Williams Jr., the commander of the 716th Military Police Battalion, 16th Military Police Brigade, supported by the 101st Sustainment Brigade, 101st Airborne Division, passes the battalion colors to Command Sgt. Maj. John D. Vicars, the incoming senior enlisted adviser, during a change of responsibility ceremony Oct. 22, at Fort Campbell, Ky. Tennessee TitansNashville, TN – The Tennessee Titans (2-6) return from their bye this week with a trip to play the Ravens (5-4) in Baltimore. Kickoff at M&T Bank Stadium (capacity 71,008) is scheduled for 12:00pm CST on Sunday, November 9th.

The Titans and Ravens have shared an intense rivalry since their first encounter in 1996. In 20 all-time meetings, including three playoff bouts, each club has won 10 times. However, the Titans have won four out of the last six match ups.

CDE Lightband to read meters Saturday, November 8th

 

Clarksville Department of Electricity - CDE - CDE LightbandClarksville, TN – CDE Lightband plans to read meter routes on Saturday, November 8th, 2014 between 7:30am and 3:00pm. This is to help keep monthly billing cycles as close to 30 days as possible.

Routes to be read include the following areas on the north side of town: Green Acres, Pembroke and Keystone.  Meter readers will be driving CDE-marked vehicles and will be wearing CDE-marked vests.

Clarksville Gas and Water reports Ashland City Road Water Outage

Clarksville Gas and Water Department - CGWClarksville, TN – Clarksville Gas and Water has turned off water service on Ashland City Road from Fawn Drive and Excell Road to repair a water valve. The road is open to traffic.

Construction crews anticipate the repair to be finished and water restored by approximately 12:00pm.
