Queen City Road Race T-shirt contest for kids
Calling all budding artists in grades 1st through 5th: Clarksville Parks and Recreation’s Queen City Road Race T-shirt design contest is back and the best drawing will be featured on the official 2015 Queen City Road Race T-shirt!
First prize: An official Queen City Road Race T-shirt featuring your design, framed poster of your drawing, $100 and a Subway party for your art class, art supplies and certificate.
Finalists (3): Subway party for your art class, art supplies and certificate.
Semi-finalists (2 per participating school): Art supplies and certificate.

- Your drawing must be submitted by January 9th — so get going.
- Your drawing may be done using any medium, although there is a 5 color use maximum.
- Drawing must be on 8 ½ x 11 paper or canvas; no construction paper, please.
Indoor Aquatic Center now offers private swim lessons
Would you or someone you know like to improve your swimming skills but think you’d benefit more from one-on-one instruction? The Indoor Aquatic Center at New Providence, located at 166 Cunningham Lane, now offers private swim lessons!
To reserve a private session, please contact Ashlee Burris or Kim Gilbert at the Indoor Aquatic Center by calling 931.472.3380.
If private lessons aren’t for you, the Indoor Aquatic Center also offers five comprehensive levels of public swim lessons as well as Mommy and Me, Preschool, Adult and Adaptive swim lessons. Two-week sessions are held monthly and cost $35.00 per session, or $15.00 with a pool pass. Registration is currently underway for these lessons at recpro.cityofclarksville.com.
Tennessee Urban Tree Steward Workshop
You are invited to join Montgomery County Extension Agent, Karla Kean and City of Clarksville City Forester, Katy Stevenson for a workshop targeting arborists, tree care professionals and others involved in the green industry.
The Tennessee Urban Tree Steward Workshop will be held on December 6th at the William O. Beach Civic Hall, 350 Pageant Lane Suite 201. The cost to attend is $25.00 per person which will cover training materials, snacks and lunch. Registration is due by November 30th, 2014.
