National Weather Service issues Winter Weather Advisory for Clarksville-Montgomery County

National Weather ServiceNashville, TN – The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory effective from midnight tonight until 10:00am CST Monday for the Clarksville-Montgomery County area. Snow and sleet is expected to accumulate over the Northwest Middle Tennessee area tonight and Monday morning.

A low pressure system and cold front will bring precipitation to the mid state through Monday morning. A cold front will change rain over to snow and sleet across Northwest sections of the mid state tonight.

Ice and Snow means Take it Slow

By daybreak Monday, around 1 inch of snow and sleet will accumulate.

As temperatures drop to freezing, slick roads are likely to develop, especially bridges. Conditions will improve quickly by lunchtime Monday as the precipitation ends and temperatures rise above freezing.

Northwest Middle Tennessee locations included in this advisory are Clarksville, Dover, Waverly, Springfield and Dickson.

Instructions

A winter weather advisory means that periods of snow. Sleet. Or freezing rain will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for slippery roads and limited visibilities. And use caution while driving.

Cheatham County, Dickson County, Houston County, Humphreys County, Montgomery County, Robertson County, and Stewart County.
